IMPORTANT:
• Highly glazed ceramic tiles may craze with time and no guarantee can be given against this occurrence across all Winchester Tile Company tiles and mouldings. This is an inherent part of our hand finished tiles and adds to their rustic nature.
• Arcadian and Artisan Crackle tiles and mouldings are deliberately crackled (as a result of a specific glazing process) to give an aged appearance.
• You may notice these tiles may make a ‘crackling’ noise as they acclimatise to the temperature of your home and may continue to do so for a short while after installation. This is perfectly normal and is part of the charm of these tiles.
ALL CRAZED AND CRACKLE TILES MUST BE SEALED BEFORE CUTTING OR FIXING For use in both dry and wet areas, all crazed/crackle tiles should be sealed with an impregnator before cutting and fixing. This will help prevent dust from the red tile body staining the crazing/crackles during cutting and prevent grout stains (or other pollutant stains) during installation. Impregnating also allows for the easy cleaning of grout from the crazing/crackles after installation. Tiles should then be re-impregnated after the grout residue has been removed, then again after 90 days from installation, with a further treatment after one year. This is because glazes may continue to crackle/craze for several months, and so each new crackle/craze line becomes unsealed.
